Bukit Asam (PTBA) recorded an increase in coal exports in the first quarter of 2024


Jakarta,- PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) recorded a positive performance for coal exports during the first quarter of 2024.PT Bukit Asam Tbk Corporate Secretary Niko Chandra said, PTBA's export sales during the first three months of this year reached 3.8 million tons.

“This number increased by 4% compared to the same period the previous year. PTBA's export market is increasingly diverse. There is an increase in exports to a number of countries, including India, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia,” Niko told Kontan, Thursday (5/16). 

Niko explained, there are various factors that can affect the coal business this year. Among them are coal prices, market fluctuations, China's economic recovery, the dynamics of other energy commodity prices, and the geopolitical situation. 

For this reason, it continues to anticipate these external conditions and prepare a number of strategic steps to maintain the positive performance that has been inscribed. 

This year, PTBA aims for coal sales for both domestic and export in total of 43.1 million tons.

“We will maximize the potential of the domestic market and export opportunities to a number of countries that have high growth prospects, both existing and new markets,” Niko added. 

Niko continued, his party is also focused on carrying out sustainable mining practices in accordance with the company's vision of becoming a world-class energy company that cares about the environment.
