PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) Targets 30% of Revenue from New and Renewable Energy by 2030

Jakarta,- PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) is targeting revenue from the energy business, including New Renewable Energy (EBT), of up to 30% of the company's total revenue by 2030. This step is part of business diversification towards cleaner and more efficient energy.

PTBA has started a concrete step by building a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero). This PLTS, which has been operating since October 2020, has a maximum capacity of 241 kilowatt-peak (kWp) and is located in the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) Building.

Additionally, PTBA collaborates with Jasa Marga Group to develop PLTS on toll roads. One of their projects, a 400 kWp PLTS on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road, has been operating since September 21, 2022.

PTBA is also exploring the use of ex-mining land for the development of PLTS, including in Ombilin (West Sumatra), Tanjung Enim (South Sumatra), and Bantuas (East Kalimantan) with the potential to reach 200 megawatt-peak (MWp).

To support the development of renewable energy, PTBA collaborates with various parties, including the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and universities, to optimize opportunities for technology development.
