Jakarta,- New coal logistics issuer PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) officially acquired 3 mines in Jambi worth IDR 1.3 trillion through a share purchase by PT Nusantara Bara Tambang (NBT). This transaction was carried out on Tuesday, (16/7/2024).
This action was carried out through NBT as an indirect subsidiary of RMKE, which signed a share purchase agreement from Nusantara Energy Limited (NEL) and Nusantara (Luxembourg) SARL (NS).
With this, NBT will acquire all NEL and NS shares in PT Artha Nusantara Mining (ANM) and PT Artha Nusantara Resources (ANR) with a transaction value of USD 80 million or equivalent to IDR 1.3 trillion.
The Company's President Director, Vincent Saputra, said that the acquisition transaction of these 3 mines is a form of diversification of operational geographic areas outside South Sumatra.
"We see that Jambi has a great opportunity to optimize its coal production with the development of more integrated infrastructure. Similar to the constraints in South Sumatra, RMKE is present as a coal logistics solution with more integrated facilities to optimize production volume," said Vincent as quoted on Friday, (19/7/2024).
Meanwhile, the Company's Operational Director, William Saputra said this transaction will support RMKE to increase in-house coal production to 2.2 million MT or an increase of 1.2 million MT from last year's in-house production.
"With increasing in-house coal production, the Company is optimistic that it can sell 3.3 million MT of coal this year," said William.
For information, ANM and ANR have 3 mining subsidiaries: PT Sinar Anugerah Sukses (SAS), PT Anugerah Jambi Coalindo (AJC) and PT Bakti Sarolangun Sejahtera (BSS). These three mines are located in Jambi and have resources of 537.7 million tons of coal with proven reserves of around 180 million tons of coal at a stripping ratio of 3:1.
The three mines produced a total of 700 thousand MT of coal last year. Together with its business group, RMKE will build several integrated logistics facilities, such as in the Company's operational area in South Sumatra. The three mines will be integrated with a 109 km hauling road, stockpiles, loading conveyors, and a port (jetty).
